Financial Policy

As a courtesy to those with dental insurance, we will gladly file your insurance for you when possible. When not possible we will provide you with the necessary insurance claim form so that you may file directly for reimbursement.

Please remember you are fully responsible for all fees charged by this office, regardless of your insurance coverage.

Method of Payment

For your convenience we accept all major credit cards, cash, e-transfers, and personal cheques. Payment in full is due at the time of treatment.

Insurance Benefits

Dental insurance is generally designed to offset costs associated with the most basic treatment using the least expensive materials available. Please provide us with your dental insurance ID card and benefits booklet at your first appointment, and update us as changes to your benefits occur. Due to the Privacy Act, health care providers are no longer able to access plan information from insurance carriers. As a courtesy we will gladly file insurance for you when possible. When it is not possible we will provide you with the necessary insurance claim form so that you may file directly for reimbursement.

Provincial Fee Guide

This guide is intended to reflect base fees charged by BC dentists possessing average professional skills, judgment and dexterity, when providing dental treatment of usual complexity under normal conditions with basic materials. No practitioner receiving this guide is obliged to charge the fees itemized therein, and like most service providers, our fees are a direct reflection of our experience and quality of workmanship. For this reason, Dr. Sims’ fees associated with restorative treatment and endodontic therapy are higher than the provincial fee guide. Estimates can be provided prior to treatment.
